Today’s Favorite Song is…

“Mercy” by Duffy.
I absolutely adore this song. I love her voice and it makes me want to dance.
Enjoy. It’s a “hot” video for a hot day.

If my technical abilities have failed me yet again, you can find it here.
I just love her red heels in the video. I want need [...]

Where did the baby go?

Ten years ago today (July 23rd) at exactly 5 a.m., we were blessed with the birth of our daughter.  She weighed 6 pounds, 3 ounces and was 19 inches long.  We called her Miss Mousey.

Here is our Monkey (a well-deserved nickname) at the age of 7 months.  Strangers used to come up to us and want [...]

Good news…

I didn’t paint this weekend, not a single room inside my home.
I filled my time with another activity.
I stained!  It’s not painting, it’s staining.  I should say “we” stained.  We: meaning our whole family.  Well, except for the cat.  I don’t think he would’ve been much help, and besides, the cat doesn’t accept cash, but the [...]

July 6, 1991

Yesterday was my 17th wedding anniversary.  Wow…  Where did the time go?
This is my favorite photo from the day when I married Mr. Right.

We look happy don’t we?  Can you believe that we had just had a little spat before the photographer stuck her head in the window?  Ahhhh, wedded bliss.

Telling it like it is.

My daughter is very good at this, and it started when she was quite young.
Turning the clock back 7 years now to a summer when she was only 3 years old:
“Beppy,” as she fondly called herself back then, was born with a need for speed.  She loved to fly down the sidewalk on one of two [...]

(Pre)School’s Out for Summer!!

To celebrate it, please enjoy this Alice Cooper and the Muppets video from 1978.  Thanks youtube.

School’s Out for Summer!

~Yet another song that will be stuck in my head all day.

Remarkable Riderless Runaway Tricycle

At our preschool we have a movie projector.  Remember those?  We also have a fabulous collection of movies in round tins on a shelf in our back room.  A movie is a special event at preschool, since we rarely use them.
This is the movie that was shown yesterday at the end of our day.  It [...]

Tap Dancing Queen

Here she is as the tap dancing queen!  This is one of the dress rehearsals for her Tap 2 class.

She’s the third one in line, and pretty much in the center of the video.  I like this recital costume better than the jazz costume.  I love how she holds her ribbon and skirt throughout the dance.  [...]

Fuzzy and Blue

“Don’t you wish you were fuzzy and blue?”
This is another one of my Sesame Street favorites.  (And one of my son’s favorites too.)  Talk about stating (or singing for that matter) the obvious.
To quote Grover:  “Hit it boys!” (I just love the enunciation.)
Follow this link to get to Grover. The next [...]

“Sunny days, sweeping the clouds away…”

Ah, Sesame Street.  A staple of my childhood.  This classic Ernie and Bert clip isn’t from my childhood in the 70’s, but probably from the 80’s.  (If you happen to know, please clue me in.)  I know my 12 year old had it on one of his Sesame Street VHS tapes from when he was a [...]
